Prior to coming to the U.S. for college in 2009, I spent my entire early life in Beijing before the era of "Great Smog". Growing up on a street ("Hu Tong" 胡同) that is orthogonal to the famous South Luogu Lane (南锣鼓巷) and receiving education near Zhongguancun, known as the "China's Silicon Vally", I explored the city's ancient past and enjoyed its exciting modern development. I like to play badminton, Go (Wei Qi: 围棋) and karaoke in my spare time.
College & Grad School
I have been at Rutgers University since 2009, straight from freshman to PhD. I was the first vice president of Rutgers Chinese Student & Scholars' Association (RCSSA) drawn from undergraduate.
Family
I met my wife, Siyu Wang, back in high school, but we didn't start dating until our reunion at Rutgers in 2010. She is currently pursuing a PhD in food science. We shot our wedding photography in summer 2016!
